In these poems, nature conflicts with urban city life. Jealousy and
envy hack away at men's hearts and, at times, throw them into a
vortex of darkness. The world is in turmoil. People treat each
other as strangers and with hostility; men find it difficult to
reach a common goal. I mean to live in peace with one another. The
truth is nature tolerates men, their indecency, and lack of empathy
for others, but at the same time, despises them for their ongoing
destruction of the planet.
It is hard to say whether humanity has a future here. Although
there are abundant resources, we need to be more capable of using
them wisely.
Instinct tells us that the end will not be sweet
But it is all a part of what we are,
nature, which is God, will watch you sleep.
At the raw edge of life, nature greets
you with a smile. But do not let her fool you.
She carries the ugly mark of deceit.
Ron Raye creates poems that are like stories. Each line is a
story of its own and will evoke deep emotions in the reader. I had
to read some lines twice to understand the message he was trying to
convey better. Each line is expertly crafted. Ron Raye continues to
show that he is a master at poetry and has yet another fantastic
collection. This would be an excellent read for fans of modern
poetry. The book is enlightening while also being
thought-provoking.
